MAAP Platform Release v6.0.0: OGC Compatibility & Infrastructure Updates

The MAAP Platform Team just released v6.0.0 of the platform, which introduces Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compatibility alongside updated MAAP extensions and user interface improvements [1].

To take advantage of these new features, please spin up a new v6.0.0 workspace at hub.maap-project.org.

OGC Compatibility & Algorithm Management
Adhering to global OGC standards improves interoperability and reproducibility across our science workflows. We plan to transition all users to OGC-compatible environments within the next year and recommend registering new algorithms with our OGC-compatible environments.

• Algorithm Catalog: The catalog now exclusively displays OGC-compatible algorithms in the v6.0 workspaces.
• Legacy Code Compatibility: You can still execute jobs using existing algorithms. However, we highly recommend re-registering your existing algorithms using the new OGC specification and v6.0.0 base images [2].
• Jupyter Extensions: All MAAP Jupyter extensions have been upgraded to interface natively with OGC endpoints, featuring several usability and stability enhancements.
• Critical maap-py Update (v5.0.0+): The new workspace images include a major update to the MAAP Python library. To ensure OGC compatibility, maap-py now exclusively uses snake_case function calls and features modified parameters. Please review your scripts, as legacy camelCase functions will be deprecated. We recommend pinning the version of maap-py in your environment files to prevent any errors.
