Empty project folder remains in Workspace tree after removing a newly created project locally #934

Description

@RastoHu

Description

When a user creates a new project via the Mergin Maps QGIS plugin, opens it, and then removes it locally, the empty project folder persists in the Workspace project tree in the QGIS Browser panel. A manual refresh is required to remove it. This does not occur when downloading and removing an existing project from the server.

Environment

[x] PROD

Application (+ app version, build, operating system)

  • Mergin Maps QGIS Plugin: 2026.5.1
  • QGIS: 3.44.7-Solothurn
  • macOS: Tahoe 26.3

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new project via the MM plugin
  2. Right-click the project and select "Remove locally"

Actual results

The project entry remains visible in the Workspace project tree. The user must manually refresh the Mergin Maps project tree for it to disappear.

Expected results

After removing a locally created project, the project entry should disappear from the Workspace project tree automatically — consistent with the behaviour when removing a downloaded server project.
