[Bug]: Kernel Description and Version revert to defaults even if set as part of Board Config.

What happened?

Kernel Descriptions and Version Numbers set as part of build script do not show up if defaults exist.

How to reproduce?

Run any build.

I am not sure I fully understand what you are experiencing here and I notice you self-assigned this ticket. But it sounds to me like you are describing #7482 Is that indeed the case?

It's probably similar in the sense that it's an ordering thing and in this case the Default values take precedence.

Basically setting KERNEL_DESCRIPTION = "Texas Instruments currently supported SDK (vendor) kernel" for an existing kernel "type" doesn't update the description like it should in the menu entry. It evaluates as "Vendor BSP Kernel" as that's what's hardcoded by default. It's an easy fix probably just haven't gotten a chance to dig at where it happens.
