Hi! I'm trying to set up Basic Memory with Gemini CLI on my Mac. I'm already using Basic Memory Cloud successfully with Claude.
I followed the docs which say to use:
gemini mcp add -s user -t sse basic-memory-cloud https://cloud.basicmemory.com/mcp
I authenticated with basic-memory cloud login (which succeeded), but when I run Gemini I get:
Error during discovery for MCP server 'basic-memory-cloud': SSE error: Non-200 status code (405)
I also tried the local MCP approach from the Gemini setup video:
gemini mcp add -s user basic-memory bash "-c" "uvx basic-memory mcp --project main"
But my installed version (0.17.7) doesn't have the mcp command — it looks like it was removed in favor of cloud. The older version 0.15.0 has mcp but doesn't work with my cloud authentication.
Is there a way to connect Gemini CLI to Basic Memory Cloud? Or is there a version that has both the mcp command and cloud support?
Thanks!
