Selecting columns with keywords fails because insufficient quoting rules.

If you have a column called index, as index is a keyword, attempting to select based on that will fail because there are insufficient quoting rules for the column.

The work around is to alias the query with a view, or to list out each field and use AS in the list. Neither of which are ideal.

Can you give a bit more context on what exactly doesn't work?

In SQLair you can use escaped quotes in your column names. They do however have to match the tags on the structs. E.g. if you want to select the column index you could do:

}

stmt, err := sqlair.Prepare(`SELECT "index" AS &Row.* FROM table`, Row{})
if err != nil {
  ...
}

var row Row
err := db.Query(ctx, stmt).Get(&row)

To be honest though, I would just recommend against using index as a column name (or exists for that matter, that one has bitten me before).

Indeed, but if we want outside usage then we might want to consider code that does use keywords, even with special quoting rules.
