About the current state of NotepadNext

Totally unrelated to this repository I recently heard news about the famous always-has-been-there open-source project Audacity currently undergoing a major structural change.
Project lead Tantacrul also did a very informative video to the what and why of their efforts, acknowledging both existing users, as well as new users.
I was wondering, is this the penultimate goal of this NotepadNext project too? Putting Notepad++ on a stable and future proof base that it could maybe become the new main project branch someday?

Notepad Next is not associated with the main Notepad++ project. I was a previous Notepad++ developer and I wanted an excuse to learn the Qt framework, so I started a reimplementation for the fun of it.

Obviously, it has some benefits if being cross-platform, but there is also quite alot that is missing, not working, or simply not implemented.

If people find this project useful then great! But ultimately its still just a project I do on the side in my limited free time.
