Summary
Add an in-app way to configure DNS Match Domains in the Pangolin clients for macOS and iOS/iPadOS. The setting is already supported by the clients as
dnsMatchDomains, but is not currently exposed in either platform's preferences.Motivation
Thank you for implementing Match Domains. I use
*.internal.mydomain.meto send matching DNS queries to my homelab DNS server (pfSense), while non-matching queries continue to use the host's DNS. This lets internal names resolve through my homelab without slowing down ordinary DNS lookups.Currently, configuring this requires manually editing
pangolin.jsonon macOS. On iOS/iPadOS, the configuration is stored in the app's private container and is not conveniently user-editable. Exposing the setting in both apps would make this useful split-DNS behavior accessible and manageable without editing app configuration files.Proposed Solution
Add a Match Domains control to the DNS preferences on both macOS and iOS/iPadOS. Let users view, add, and remove wildcard patterns, for example
*.internal.mydomain.me, and save them using the existingdnsMatchDomainsconfiguration.Queries matching a configured pattern should continue through Pangolin's configured DNS path, while non-matching queries continue to use the host's DNS. An empty list should preserve the current behavior where the filter is disabled.
Alternatives Considered
pangolin.jsonon macOS. This is not an in-app setting and requires editing the client's configuration file.Additional Context
