Support for SQLite.swift

Curious if it would be to integrate with SQLite.swift

I really enjoy the ability to leverage the type system & compile-time checks to make writing SQL statements easier and safer.

It might be complicated. SQLite.swift would have to use the custom SQLite build that isn't compiled with OMIT_LOAD_EXTENSION flag. As far as I can see it's possible right now but only using cocoa pods

There are potentially 2 options,

1. SQLite.swift use a custom build
2. Add the type-safety functionality to this library

Question then become, which is "less" work I suppose

Hey @spprichard I was looking into integrating sqlite-vec extenction with GRDB

I noticed by following a few issues/PRs across multiple repos where you likely were trying to accomplish the same.

I was wondering if you were able to finally solve this i.e use sqlite-vec with grdb on a swift ios app? Did you notice any issues with saving / searching vectors?

ps: do you use Apple's NLEmbedding for creating the vector embeddings or an api call to openAI embeddings etc?

Very cool you are looking to do the same.
It's been a while since I've tried this, so I may have forgotten the important details. My apologies for that.

If I recall correctly, I was able to get GRDB to load the extension. It took some hacking around, but I remember being able to do it.

I was also able to create a row in a table with a vector type. However, one of the biggest issues was trying to find a SQLite browser application to view the different tables. It was due to the fact that the SQLite browser app also has to load the extension, and I was unable to figure that out.

Yes I only used the NLEmbedding provided by Apple's framework. Don't see why you couldn't use other embeddings for other providers
