MiniPdf Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

MiniPdf welcomes participation from anyone who contributes in good faith. We are committed to a respectful, harassment-free community regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, experience level, education, socioeconomic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, religion, sexual identity and orientation, or technical preferences.

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful, specific, and constructive.
  • Critique ideas and changes, not people.
  • Give others time to respond across time zones and language boundaries.
  • State assumptions and disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
  • Accept responsibility, apologize when appropriate, and repair harm.
  • Keep security reports and sensitive personal matters private.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, threats, discrimination, or demeaning comments.
  • Sexualized language, imagery, or unwanted attention.
  • Trolling, sustained disruption, or deliberate intimidation.
  • Publishing another person's private information without permission.
  • Retaliation against someone who reports a concern in good faith.
  • Using project authority, employment, or organizational status to pressure another participant.

Scope

This policy applies in project repositories, discussions, issue trackers, review threads, events, and private communications related to project work. It also applies when someone publicly represents the project.

Reporting

For an immediate safety concern, contact the relevant local authority or platform safety team first.

For a project conduct concern, contact an active maintainer listed in MAINTAINERS.md through a private channel shown on their GitHub profile. If no private channel is available, open an issue requesting private contact without including names or incident details.

Do not report a maintainer to that same person. When the current maintainer is involved, request an independent moderator through the MiniPdf GitHub organization. The project will document a dedicated independent reporting channel as the maintainer group grows.

Reports will be handled as confidentially as reasonably possible. Information is shared only with people needed to assess and resolve the report. Knowingly false or retaliatory reports are themselves a violation, but an unproven good- faith report is not.

Enforcement

Maintainers may remove content, issue a private or public warning, limit participation, temporarily suspend access, or permanently remove someone from project spaces. Responses should be proportionate to the conduct, its impact, and any pattern of behavior.

Enforcement decisions involving a maintainer require review by an unconflicted maintainer or independent moderator. Public statements should protect reporter privacy while explaining actions needed for community safety.
