Bug Title
Where did these images are coming from?
Subtitle / Tagline
Why a small file size, when you have enough storage for useless images
Description
For a huge long while now, when you open a ooXML (MS Office) document in Pages, Numbers, or Keynote and save it in the native format of Pages, Numbery, or Keynote, a number of images would be added and the file size would increase. None of the images was part of the original document.
This bug used to be worse: Pages would add images to newly created documents, too.
Affected Platforms
Earliest Known Report
No response
Approximately how long has this been unfixed?
~10 years in variants
Common Workarounds
Convert the document in RTF or CSV or Plain Text, after which you can convert it to Pages & Co without getting weird images.
Evidence / Links
A Pages & Co file is just a simple zip archive (you can also store it as bundle), in which there is a folder called Data, where you can find the images.
