ENOTDIR error on starter project

first time setup and following the docs, I get this error:

✖ Error: Failed to download and install template from 
https://github.com/serverless/examples/tree/v4/aws-node-http-api due to ENOTDIR:     
not a directory, scandir '/var/folders/68/g88n080n5zl1sc24dvp1bk400000gp/T/examples/v4.html/aws-node-http-api'

Is it the v4.html path part?
I am pushing and pulling from Github.
