How can I customize the summary of list pages ?

There are two pages in the customization menu - show.md and style.md.

The _index.md file of this menu is configured in a way which shows the date header, title, description, keywords, the text above <!--more-->, series, etc. of both these pages.

Is it possible to customize

in _index.md such that only the title, author, and keywords are displayed for show.md and style.md in the customization page?

Page parameters aren't inherited between parent and child pages. If you look at the front matter for _index.md, show.md, and style.md, you can see that they each specify a paige.style value:

By default, all page content is displayed, so if you want _index.md to only show the title, author, and keywords, you would style everything else to not be displayed:

but it seems to just list pages by their title (without showing author and keywords).

I got around this by adding summary in the front matter. As I was migrating from a different theme, making this change was easy.

I was trying to avoid adding

Some text
`<!--more-->`

in individual files.

You may have had an issue if you set paige.style in the site parameters, which pages do inherit. The exampleSite does this to hide most content, if I remember correctly, so if you copied the exampleSite config, you would need to restyle content as display:block instead of display:none, as you did above.
