A one-day Omi hardware concept

Hey, I’m Nicholas. I just applied for Head of Taste. Rather than send another note about taste, I spent a day showing you what I mean.

Watch Nicholas walk through the Omi concept

Omi is a wearable, so its website should make people feel what it might be like to hold one. This prototype treats the pendant as a desirable object with material depth, dramatic light, physical movement, and a concise product story, rather than another flat piece of AI hardware.

Why I’m unusually fit for Head of Taste

  • I made jewelry for Post Malone and grew my own luxury brand past $1M in revenue.
  • I’ve led six-figure creative-technology projects for World Labs, Neal Stephenson, and others through my agency, which has generated over $1.5M in revenue.
  • I’ve directed startup launches reaching 1.9M views and built brand identities for companies that went on to raise more than $13M.

My career has been building toward leading creative at an AI wearables company. I believe a less screen-dependent future depends on exceptional wearables becoming mass-market, and that requires product, brand, and experience to feel inseparable.

What’s in the prototype

  • Original Three.js / React Three Fiber model of the Omi pendant
  • Translucent shell, metallic core, cinematic lighting, bloom, and material detail
  • Four-part scroll narrative with desktop rope physics and interaction
  • Instanced product conveyor and lightweight fabrication loader
  • Mobile-specific composition and performance path
  • Isolated /device-lab route; the current homepage is unchanged

Validation

  • npx tsc --noEmit
  • npm run build
  • Desktop review at 1280 × 720
  • Mobile review at 390 × 844 and 375 × 667

If this is the kind of energy you want at Omi, I can be in San Francisco to interview within 24 hours and relocate quickly for the role. I’d love to talk through the system behind this and what the next version of Omi’s brand could feel like.

@kodjima33 I built this as a one-day Head of Taste application and wanted to put the work directly in front of you. The live demo and 1:43 walkthrough are at the top of the PR. Would love your eyes on it.

@m13v You are the active maintainer on this repository, but GitHub will not let an external contributor use the formal reviewer-request control. I would appreciate your eyes on the implementation when you have a moment.
