A full-stack task management application built with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v14 or higher)
• MongoDB installed and running locally
• Git

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/your-username/task-management-app.git
cd task-management-app

2. Install backend dependencies:

cd backend
npm install

3. Set up environment variables: Create a .env file in the backend directory with the following:

PORT=5000
MONGODB_URI=mongodb://localhost:27017/task-management
JWT_SECRET=your-secret-key-here
NODE_ENV=development

4. Install frontend dependencies:

cd ../frontend
npm install

Running the Application

1. Start the backend server:

cd backend
npm run dev

2. In a new terminal, start the frontend development server:

cd frontend
npm run dev

The application should now be running at http://localhost:5173 (frontend) and http://localhost:5000 (backend).
