Poor Results with Custom Data

Hi,

I'm trying on a custom dataset with a lidar data without intensity... What are thing i need to take care of in the configs.

1. Tried a lower batch size of 1024 , 2048 -- seems to help in my case
2. n_gaussian: simply set to 24 , 48
3. gaussian n_iters: 1000
4. Using min and max range values to be 200m and -15 to +40 based on datasheet.

@Jaykumaran did you make it work. I am wondering what adjustment is necessary when the LIDAR doesn't have intensity. And also what dataloader did you base you custom dataloader on ?

Hi,

Yes I'm getting decent results with gaussian, enable monodepth_on:True for non-lidar points regions when projected on image. Recommended to watch demo video and papr multiple times.

You can try ipbcar or oxford yaml but add n_iters to be 1000 and gauss 16 or 24..it will be slow but I'm getting okayish splat

Currently I gave more weightage to splatting, however my mesh reconstruction is not that great
