[🐛 Bug]: Selenium IDE error "n.createEvent(...).initKeyEvent is not a function" when use commands type or send keys

Description

While record test case in Firefox's (v. 150.0.1) Selenium IDE plugin (v. 3.17.4) and data entering in the input fields, the Selenium IDE writes type command. But when I run test script while type command executes I see an error in the log:
type on id=sum with value 10000 Failed: 10:38:07 n.createEvent(...).initKeyEvent is not a function
I try replace type command by send keys, but the error arises too:
sendKeys on id=term with value 6 Failed: 10:39:18 n.createEvent(...).initKeyEvent is not a function

@kolgenpav Out of curiosity, do you recall this working with a prior release, say, Firefox 149?

As I'm sure you found out, the extension doesn't appear to work with Chrome/Chromium right now due to (what I presume are) new restrictions with Manifest v3 WebExtensions. I'd be OK with keeping an older version of Firefox around, just to have something that works.

I get the same error "n.createEvent(...).initKeyEvent is not a function".

Environment: Firefox 152.0.5 64-bit snap (canonical-002-1.0) , on Ubuntu 24.04.4 desktop x64.

The Firefox profile only has a single extension (Selenium 3.17.4).

Using X.org (not wayland) on AMD with no DRI3 support.

This is my first attempt to use Selenium IDE, so I do not know if it previously worked, and the first playback failed (login to a webside running locally under Apache2/PHP) .

Looking for solution.
