This will fix the use of the CoreConfig.xml groupBaseRDN setting in the LDAP Auth section, to actually filter Security Groups being returned for a user. This has been tested with the related settings matchGroupInChain and groupprefix.
I have attached the use cases that it was tested with, along with the patched and unpatched test results.

Additionally there are some additional null checks that should assist with robustness and avoid unnecessary null exceptions.
