It would be easier to have a method to add/update a subitem, for instance be able to update a computer's OS with the computer's ID and not the OS' ID (which is rarely used). Those requests aren't API's, but it would be more convenient.

Retrieve the sub-item's ID within the item and then perform a regular add/update.
