    The RW101R-GL stores its FCC lock mode in NVRAM. Lenovo ships it in mode 2, which locks the radio at every power-on and needs a host-side unlock on each boot (Lenovo's `DPR_Fcc_unlock_service` via ModemManager's `fcc-unlock.d`). After switching the module to mode 1 and completing one challenge-response unlock, the module comes up unlocked after a reboot and no unlock tool is needed.
