…d smaller than the question (183-187) The catalog gate applied one family's rule to four families, and the records said so in a field the gate already parsed. Scoping by "what passes today" would have written a coincidence -- tnf8 -- into the schema as a design decision. Three self-inflicted detours worth keeping: `--ours`/`--theirs` are inverted in a rebase and I shipped my own stale ledger; a baseline keyed by sha1(line) re-opens on edit BY DESIGN, and its key is computed on whitespace-normalised text; and `gh pr checks` reported 2 checks on a PR with 40 runs, one of them a failure.
