Refs #2762

Five skill sections from the catalog-gate work in #2792.

  • 183 — the data already said which rule governs it, in a field the gate parsed. bnf8: "exponent sized for range not phi". gft8: "GOLDEN RATIO axis: E_t = round((N-1)/phi^2)". The gate read that field; it just did not read it.
  • 184 — marking "what passes today" writes coincidences into the schema. tnf8 satisfies the φ rule because at 8 bits two ladders coincide; one marker and that becomes a design decision the next reader inherits as fact.
  • 185 — during a rebase --ours/--theirs are inverted. I took my own stale ledger and shipped a red ratchet; located only by running the gate on a pristine origin/master worktree.
  • 186 — a baseline keyed by sha1(line) re-opens on edit by design, and its key is computed on whitespace-normalised text. Read how a key is made, not what it looks like.
  • 187gh pr checks reported 2 checks on a PR with 40 runs, one a failure. Third time in one day a view was smaller than the question; read the run list with headSha, because a failure at the previous commit and one at HEAD look identical in a conclusion column.

…d smaller than the question (183-187)

The catalog gate applied one family's rule to four families, and the records said
so in a field the gate already parsed. Scoping by "what passes today" would have
written a coincidence -- tnf8 -- into the schema as a design decision.

Three self-inflicted detours worth keeping: `--ours`/`--theirs` are inverted in a
rebase and I shipped my own stale ledger; a baseline keyed by sha1(line) re-opens
on edit BY DESIGN, and its key is computed on whitespace-normalised text; and
`gh pr checks` reported 2 checks on a PR with 40 runs, one of them a failure.
