What are you trying to accomplish?
We use Sentry for error and performance monitoring, and our Performance Units (transactions) quota is being exhausted very quickly after the start of each billing cycle.
We want to configure a Spend Allocation for a project that takes effect automatically at the start of the next billing cycle, so that the allocation is in place immediately when the quota resets.
How are you getting stuck?
When we try to configure the Spend Allocation during the current billing cycle, Sentry returns:
Cannot apply this change to your current period due to consumed amount
This happens because a significant portion/all of the Performance Units quota has already been consumed.
The problem is that waiting until the next billing cycle to configure the allocation creates a race condition: our quota is typically exhausted within ~1 day of the billing cycle reset, so there is a risk that the quota will be consumed again before we can manually configure the allocation.
We need a way to preconfigure/schedule a Spend Allocation for the next billing cycle, so that it becomes active automatically when the billing period resets.
