Fire-Calc is a lightweight, mobile-friendly fire service calculator built with React and Vite. It helps estimate common hydraulic values used in the field, including engine pressure, friction loss, relay pumper needs, and tender relay performance.
Fire-Calc provides a simple set of calculators for quick field-style estimates:
- Engine Pressure: estimate target pump discharge pressure using nozzle pressure, flow, hose length, elevation change, appliance loss, and hose condition.
- Friction Loss: calculate pressure drop through a hose line based on flow, hose length, diameter, and hose condition.
- Relay Pumpers: estimate how many pumpers are needed for a relay operation based on flow and relay length.
- Relay Performance: estimate a tender’s actual flow rate from tank size, distance, and fill/dump times.
The app also includes:
- Imperial and metric unit support
- Light/dark theme support
- A Progressive Web App experience for installation and offline-friendly use
