Closes: #997

Description

Attaches a CadenceOwnedAccount resource to the configured Flow account that submits Cadence transactions. The Cadence transaction which wraps EVM transactions, will now use the created CadenceOwnedAccount address as a coinbase, and after a certain amount has been collected (for now 5 FLOW), those are transferred from the EVM environment to the Cadence environment.

This adds an on-chain automation, that will alleviate the node operators from the need to manually transfer funds from the EVM side to the Cadence side.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Account creation now supports selecting the target Flow network through a network identifier.
    • Accounts can automatically create and manage a Cadence-Owned Account for EVM activity.
    • EVM transaction execution now derives the coinbase address from the account, without requiring it as a transaction input.
    • FLOW fees accumulated by the account are automatically settled once the configured threshold is reached.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Improved transaction submission consistency by ensuring the configured account authorizes transactions correctly.

Walkthrough

Changes

Account bootstrap now selects a Flow network and resolves system contract addresses per chain. Requester transactions create or reuse a COA, use it as the authorizer, and derive coinbase from it. Go setup and Web3 tests reflect the updated execution behavior.

Network-aware COA flow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Network-aware account bootstrap
bootstrap/create-multi-key-account.go
Bootstrap commands accept --flow-network-id, resolve contract addresses by chain, use local transaction scripts, and create a COA during account funding.
COA requester execution
services/requester/batch_tx_pool.go, services/requester/single_tx_pool.go, services/requester/cadence/run.cdc
Transaction builders stop passing coinbase strings. The configured COA becomes the authorizer, and Cadence derives coinbase from the stored COA.
Bootstrap call-site updates
tests/helpers.go, tests/integration_test.go, tests/key_store_release_test.go, tests/tx_batching_test.go
Account creation calls pass flow.Emulator instead of separate token contract addresses.
Web3 expectation updates

Trace, filter, transaction, fee-history, and block-access-list assertions match the updated COA-backed execution results.

The coinbase is no longer configurable/deterministic, because a CadenceOwnedAccount is randomly assigned an address. This makes the assertion here a bit complicated, but the assertions with the same logic are performed above:

// assert the transaction fees charged on sender EOA
cost = res.receipt.gasUsed * gasFeeCap
expectedBalance = senderBalance - cost
senderBalance = await web3.eth.getBalance(conf.eoa.address)
assert.equal(senderBalance, expectedBalance)

}

let coinbaseBalance = await web3.eth.getBalance(conf.coinbase)
assert.equal(coinbaseBalance, 1254166800n)

The 0x0000000000000000000000020000000000000000 EOA is a special system address that deploys the CadenceOwnedAccount smart wallet.

The update in gasUsedRatio comes from the new EVM transaction, which creates the CadenceOwnedAccount smart wallet.

The hash for the tx that transfers gas fees to the COA coinbase is no longer deterministic, because the COA address is different in each test run. This assertion here is not easy to replicate and its not much useful anyway, as a hard-coded tx hash.

The to target is now the COA address used as coinbase for the tx fees, but it's no longer configurable/deterministic.

Assert that the to target has the format of a CadenceOwnedAccount address.

The blockAccessListHash is no longer reproducible, because a COA address is used as the coinbase for tx fees, which is no longer configurable/deterministic. We simply assert that the blockAccessListHash is not the special empty hash, used for empty blocks with no transactions.

68-70: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Add end-to-end assertions for COA fee collection.

eth_transaction_type_fees_test.js now checks only sender debits and fee fields. run.cdc passes self.coa.address() to EVM.run and EVM.batchRun, then transfers 5 FLOW from that COA to the signer's FlowToken vault when the threshold is reached. Add a test that asserts COA fee crediting and exercises the threshold branch, including the 5 FLOW vault deposit. Without these assertions, regressions in the new fee behavior can pass.
