Updates specs using make -B json

Hi, thanks very much for the contribution!

This repo is mainly a proof of concept, and I don't want to break existing things that use it. There's also a few small updates needed to read the updated spec correctly.

Do you think you could update the pull request as follows? It would be really helpful if you could:

1) New subdirectory

• Create a dated subdirectory (e.g. named "20241216" or whatever YYYYMMDD date it is)

• Make a copy of the Python files and the makefile in that directory

2) Build the spec again

(in the named subdirectory)
