Hi, I'm Tomasz Miller

Senior Backend & AI Engineer building cloud-native commerce systems and production-shaped AI applications.

Java · TypeScript · AWS · Agentic Systems · commercetools · E-commerce

I combine 9+ years of backend and cloud engineering with applied AI and end-to-end product ownership: multimodal search, model/tool integrations, evaluations, observability, deterministic fallbacks and live cloud systems.

Selected work

AI product engineering

commerce-ai-tool
Multimodal product-search accelerator for commercetools with text, voice and image input. Includes AWS Bedrock/OpenRouter adapters, Langfuse/OpenTelemetry, managed prompts, Promptfoo evaluations, caching, fallbacks and optional cart flows.

Agent-assisted software delivery

zero-to-ct-storefront · Live demo
Complete B2C commercetools PoC delivered in ~42 net engineering hours over two calendar weeks. The repository documents ~85-95% agent contribution to storefront code, ~343 unit tests, ~37 E2E tests and CI quality gates.

Agentic architecture and enablement

commercetools-agentic-playbook
Practical capability map, recipes and onboarding material for commercetools skills, MCP servers and agent-assisted delivery.

ct-agentic-connect
Commercetools Connect service and Cart API Extension demonstrating a deterministic business rule around an agent-assisted delivery workflow.

Voice and interaction

shepherd-spam-shield
Local/cloud voice-agent pipeline combining STT, an LLM and TTS, with manual and VAD-driven modes.

talking-head
Reusable TypeScript/React library for SVG avatars with timestamp-driven lip sync.

How I approach AI systems

  • Use AI where probabilistic reasoning creates value; keep critical business rules deterministic.
  • Evaluate prompts and model behaviour instead of relying on demos.
  • Make latency, cost, privacy, security, fallbacks and observability architectural concerns.
  • Keep humans accountable for requirements, design, review and production outcomes.

Live products I operate

Santa’s Sack · Gifts
Four-language product ecosystem built with Next.js, PostgreSQL, Redis and AWS. It combines graph-based Secret Santa assignment, shared identity across applications and asynchronous email/scheduled workflows.

Carpenter’s Toolkit
Multilingual Vue/TypeScript product with domain-specific carpentry calculators, localized SEO and structured data, consent-aware analytics and protected feedback, delivered through Cloudflare.

The product repositories are private; the links above point to the running applications.
