Moves the crate from Wasmer 7.4 to 7.5, as wasmerio/webgpu#6 (merged) did for webgpu. CI needs a one-line workflow change I can't push (below).

Change

• Requirements: wasmer and wasmer-types 7.5; wasmer-wasix, virtual-fs and wasmer-webgpu 0.705.

• Version: the crate's own version is 0.705.0. It mirrors wasix's, as 0.704.0 did.

• Pin: standalone builds pin wasmerio/wasmer at f174113 instead of 5bd2b7d. f174113 is the SDK runtime branch (wasmerio/wasmer#6956) after merging main, which includes the 7.5.0 release. It also has:

  • wasmerio/wasmer#7122, which Let a guest in a browser wait for input without blocking its worker #4's suspending wait needs to report a program's exit code;
  • a fix on that branch for an interaction the merge exposed: with main's preopen-rights fix, the branch's persistent timestamps let a guest set the times of the host directory behind the virtual root.

  webgpu pins 53a38c3, the branch just before that fix. When gui builds webgpu from ../webgpu, gui's pin is the one that applies.

• Merged main: this now includes Let a page answer the first redraw after a quiet moment at once #1, Don't let a wake slip in between a wait's checks #2 and Wake for the next frame on time on macOS #5.

• Cargo.lock: only what Wasmer 7.5 brings with it, the same as in webgpu#6:

  • the Wasmer crates at the new revision;
  • Cranelift 0.135 → 0.136, smoltcp 0.13 → 0.14, rusty_pool 0.7 → 1.0;
  • wasmparser, wast and wat 0.262;
  • yaml_serde added;
  • duplicate defmt, mach2 and zstd versions gone.

Rust 1.96 is now the minimum: that's Wasmer 7.5's, for Cranelift 0.136. CI uses stable, so it's unaffected.

CI needs WEBGPU_REF changed

CI checks webgpu out at WEBGPU_REF: webgpu-gui. That branch was merged into webgpu's main long ago and is still on 0.704. So every job here fails with failed to select a version for the requirement `wasmer-webgpu = "^0.705"` . My token can't push workflow changes. In .github/workflows/ci.yml:

Downstream

• Open PRs: Let work done outside the window system wake a waiting guest #3 is on 7.4 and needs this merged in once it lands. Let a guest in a browser wait for input without blocking its worker #4 already builds on it.
• SDK and WebkitWasm: they build this crate by path against their own runtime, still Wasmer 7.4 (5bd2b7d). They need 7.5 too before they take this change.
• integrations/: the patches and notes there are records against Wasmer 7.4.2, and are left as they are.

Locally (macOS arm64, Rust 1.97.1, Chrome), with webgpu's main at ../webgpu:
