Also bumps the runner of github actions from ubuntu-20.04 to ubuntu-22.04, since support for version 20 will be dropped on 1.4.2025, see actions/runner-images#11101
NB: Python 3.6 is still listed as supported in pyproject.toml so that installing the package is allowed. However, we no longer test on 3.6, so some breakage could occur accidentally.
