# Published records

Published records are finalized records made available in the repository. Once a record is published, it becomes accessible to users.

I am thinking to add a small glossary page with some names, to which we will link when describing things.
Here I would like you to add a disclaimer (like a box with differrent color so it stands out)

Please note published record is not equal to a public record. Published record means that record is no longer a draft (temporary working version) but finalised record, registered fully in the system.

- search and filter your records
- create new uploads

Each record entry displays key information such as title, status (`draft`, `published`, `restricted`), and last update date.

2. Update the metadata or files as needed.
3. Save your changes.

For published records, only the metadata can be edited.

If you need to modify or replace files, you must create a new version of the record.

Do we want to mention here how DOIs work with new versions? I.e. whether you need to manually request one, and how there is a DOI for the parent record. Or should this go on a different page?

CDS keeps a version history, so all previous versions remain accessible.

All versions are linked together, allowing users to navigate between older and newer versions of the same record.

It seemed odd to read from 3rd person perspective speaking about "users" given that in other places we say "you"

All versions of a record are linked together, allowing you to navigate between older and newer versions.

Also, can we mention about searching for all versions? The toggle on the search page. Users has dome some doubts about it
