What?
Changes the
test-phpjob's PHP version matrix inunit-test.ymlfrom7.2,7.3,7.4,8.0,8.1,8.2to7.0,7.4,8.0,8.3.The PHP test jobs' names also drop the trailing "on ubuntu-latest", so they read
PHP <version>andPHP <version> multisite. The operating system doesn't matter for these jobs. The label no longer matched the pinnedubuntu-24.04runner.Why?
WordPress 6.5 supports PHP 7.0 through 7.4 and 8.0 through 8.3, per the PHP compatibility policy. The old matrix started at 7.2 and stopped at 8.2. The new matrix tests the lowest and highest supported minor version of each major PHP version instead of every minor version.
