## Chef InSpec 7.3.4

Release date: October 12, 2026

### Bug fixes

- The `oracledb_session` resource now correctly parses query output from both `sqlcl` and `sqlplus`. Previously, an unsuppressed banner in `sqlcl` output and output that wasn't formatted as CSV in `sqlplus` broke result parsing. ([#8010](https://github.com/inspec/inspec/pull/8010))
- The `oracledb_session` resource now correctly returns values for every column in multi-column query results. Previously, comma replacement altered CSV delimiters before parsing, and row flattening prevented the resource from representing more than one column, causing `.column(name)` to return `nil`. ([#7997](https://github.com/inspec/inspec/pull/7997))

### Packages

- Chef InSpec is now available as a native macOS ARM installer. The installer uses a Habitat-built artifact, so you don't need to use Habitat tooling directly.

### Security fixes

- Updated the `core/openssl` Habitat package from `3.5.7` to `3.5.8` for the Linux x86, Windows x86, Linux ARM (`aarch64-linux`), and macOS ARM (`aarch64-darwin`) platforms.

Is there a reason to list these platforms?
Is this the full list of supported platforms for InSpec?

For InSpec 7.2, we don't list macos as a supported platform. Is that a new supported platform for this release?

Good point. So for 7.2 we did support macOs habitat package but we did not support MacOs native installer packages. The security fixes mentioned here are with respect to dependency update we made for these platforms using hab packages updates.
And your comment reminds me that we need to have a packaging section like this https://docs.chef.io/release_notes/inspec/#packaging for MacOs Native packages since we are releasing those with 7.3.1. @IanMadd let me know if you could cover those else I will add.

@IanMadd Have added macOS in the packaging section for native packages.

- Updated the `core/curl` Habitat package from `8.21.0` to `8.22.0` for the Linux x86, Linux ARM (`aarch64-linux`), and macOS ARM (`aarch64-darwin`) platforms.
- Updated `rubyzip` from `2.4.1` to `3.7.0`. ([#8024](https://github.com/inspec/inspec/pull/8024))
